In V.Derjugin's given image puts and solves a complex(difficult) creative problem(task): to show in a portrait bright unique individuality of model and to transfer the general(common) typical features peculiar to certain professional group of people.
On a portrait the concrete person having fig peculiar only to it(him). At the same time the artist is submitted aspires to emphasize to feature, characteristic for people of his(its) trade.
The graphic accent(stress) in a portrait is made on hands of model, is underlined accurate and pure(clean) with the large gold hours as though indicating rapidity of life. The strong-willed person, accurately combed hair, a beard, a sharp penetrating sight - supplement an image of the person daily taking on the responsibility for life and health of other people.
In graphic means the artist resorts to the favourite reception - светотеневому to the picturesque decision at which light and a shadow are the basic composite regulators underlining the main thing in represented and, on the contrary, hiding minor, generalizing, elements. For example, to create an expressive image of hands of model, the portraitist so organizes their illumination that they contrasted with a background of a black shirt. But light does not stop on hands, and smoothly passes to a reference point supporting a figure - edge(territory) of a table. Also утемняя the artist directs the general(common) background, other stream of light on the person портретируемого.
